Hemorrhoids can be the cause of a great deal of discomfort and embarrassment. If you are a victim of hemorrhoids you know what I'm talking about. Many of us would pay a pretty penny if we could just lay hands on a hemorrhoid treatment that can provide us with some relief.
There are hundreds of books and thousands of Websites on the subject of hemorrhoid treatment. The question of course is what actually works. Anyone who has been looking for a cure knows all too well the number of people out there who are more than happy to capitalize on our ailment but not deliver on the promise of relief.
So, having paid through the nose we still endure the pain and itching; the swelling and the bleeding. Not only is it uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful, it's embarrassing. There are few things more embarrassing than being in public with an inflamed, itchy anus! We squirm back and forth, try to scratch when we think nobody's looking and wish we could get the heck out of there.
Hemorrhoids are no fun, no matter how you toss it. Sometimes we may think we've got hemorrhoids when in fact we don't. A fissure is just a tear in the rectum. Usually they heal in a short amount of time. An abscess is an infection and when it's within the rectum can turn into a fistula which is basically an infected canal from the rectum to the exterior of the anus.
As mentioned above, lots of cures and remedies exist as a hemorrhoid treatment. Most don't work very well. Witch hazel is probably the most well known ingredient used to relieve the itching of hemorrhoids. Some people swear by cold presses on the anus or sitz (sitting) baths. Though not mentioned frequently, we're convinced that keeping the area clean and using topical antiseptics can help. A sitz bath using salt water can help quite a bit and it can help to permanently cure them if used with other techniques.
Hemorrhoids are caused by too much pressure to the anus. This can be caused by pregnancy or being overweight but diet also is a major cause of hemorrhoids. Any good hemorrhoid treatment program would necessarily include a diet that includes a lot of fiber. That means eating things like beans, nuts, oats, bran, vegetables and/or fruits. Fiber helps keep the stool from being too hard. Irregular bowel movements, like constipation and diarrhea have been noted as the major cause of hemorrhoids. A diet rich in fiber can go a long way toward preventing that. Also, be sure to drink a lot of clean water.
Some say that if you will pay attention to things like weight and diet you can prevent hemorrhoids. People who were suffering greatly from hemorrhoids have testified that with certain hemorrhoid treatment techniques such as diet, they have permanently cured hemorrhoids.
If you?re one of those people who suffer from hemorrhoids to the point where you're ready to alter your life's routine to get rid of them, then you may be in luck. Chances are that you can. Ask yourself what caused them. Were you pregnant? Are you overweight? What kinds of foods do you generally eat and do you take your time or eat quickly? During bowel movements are you patient and just let your body take care of it or do you 'push' to rush the process?
Change your daily routine. Create your own hemorrhoid treatment plan after doing enough research to understand hemorrhoids. If you do that you are sure to find long term relief from hemorrhoids.
